Normal ppl.

These days I m reading a very interesting book, the book’s name is the winner stands alone, the winner stands a alone is quite a thriller, although a thriller that the writer denied that it is, the writer is Paulo Coelho, Paulo Coelho is one of the best writers in the world, he is the writer of the Alchemist, the Alchemist has been translated into 66 languages and sold 100 million copies.

I really recommend that you guys read that book, you may find that I will highlight some sections of it to share with you as I read through it.

This section the writer is describing the normal ppl, the majority of the population in everywhere and in anywhere you will find that they act similarly, you will find that you do these things and you believe in these ideas, but are we trapped inside these thoughts or can we get out? Do we really need to get out? Or just stay normal?

Here is the list of the normal ppl he presented

1- Normal is anything that makes us forget who we are and what we want; that way we can work in order to produce, reproduce, and earn money.

2- Spending years studying at university only to find at the end of it all that you are unemployable.

3- Working from 9 to 5 every day at something that gives you no pleasure at all just so that, after thirty years, you can retire

4- Retiring and discovering that you no longer have enough energy to enjoy life and dying a few years later of sheer boredom.

5- Using Botox

6- Believing that power is much more important than money and that money is much more important than happiness.

7- Making fun of anyone who seeks happiness rather than money and accusing them of lacking ambition.

8- Comparing objects like cars, houses, and clothes and defining life according to those comparisons, instead of trying to discover the real reason for being alive.

9- Never talking to strangers. Saying nasty things about the neighbors

10- Believing that your parents are always right.

11- Getting married, having children and staying together long after all love has died, saying that it’s for the good of the children (who are, apparently, deaf to the constant rows)

12- Critising anyone who tries to be different

13- Waking up every morning to an hysterical alarm clock on the bedside table

14- Believing absolutely everything that appears in print.

15- Wearing a scrap of colored cloth around your neck. Even though it serves no useful purpose, but which answers to the name of “tie”

16- Never asking a direct question even though the other person can guess what it is you want to know

17- Keeping a smile on your lips even when you’re on the verge of tears, feeling sorry for those who share their feelings

18- Believing that art is either worth a fortune or worth nothing at all

19- Despising anything that was easy to achieve because if no sacrifice was involved, it obviously isn’t worth having

20- Following fashion trends, however ridiculous or uncomfortable

21- Believing that all famous people have tons of money saved up

22- Investing a lot of time and money in external beauty and caring a little about inner beauty

23- Using ever means possible to show that, although you are just an ordinary human being, you‘re far above other mortals

24- Never looking anyone in the eye when you’re travelling on public transport, in case it’s interpreted as a sign you’re trying to get off with them

25- Standing facing the door in a lift and pretending you’re the only person there, regardless how crowded it is

26- Never laughing too loudly in a restaurant however good the joke

27- In the southern hemisphere, covering Christmas tree with fake snow even though winter has nothing to do with the birth of the Christ

28- Assuming as you grow older that you’re the guardian of the world’s wisdom, even if you haven’t necessarily lived enough to know what’s right and what’s wrong

29- Going to charity tea party and thinking that you’ve done your bit towards putting an end to social inequality in the world

30- Eating three times a day even if your nt hungry

31- Believing that other people are always better than you – better looking, more capable, richer, more intelligent – and that it’s very dangerous to step outside your own limits, so it’s best to do nothing

32- Swearing when in heavy traffic

33- Believing that everything your child does wrong is entirely down to the company he or she keeps

34- Marrying the first person who offers a decent position in society. Love can wait

35- Always saying “I tried” when you didn’t really try at all

36- Postponing doing the really interesting things in life for later, when you won’t have the energy

37- Avoiding depression with large daily doses of television

38- Assuming that women don’t like football and that men aren’t interested in home decoration and cooking

39- Blaming the government for all the bad things that happen

40- Thinking that being a good, decent, respectable person will mean that others will see you as weak vulnerable and easy to manipulate

41- Being equally convinced that aggression and rudeness are synonymous with having strong personality

42- Being afraid of having an endoscopy (if you’re a man) and giving birth (if you’re a woman)

listed above only 42 point, Well the list actually consists of 46 point, but other 4 are not applicable / important to us

And here are some that I like to add from my own thoughts

1- You always offer to treat people “3andy deeeh” even if you don’t really want, you hope that they would pass

2- When you are with cool people you act cool, when are with religious people you act a little bit religious, when you’re with fools you act a fool (the last one I just wanted to say the line, it’s nt important)

3- Being normal is safe

4- You think that You’re smarter than the others in one way or another

5- Ay 7add gamed you try to find something wrong with him 3ashan te22ool 3aleeh la ya3m el waad daa faksaan

6- You have 2 personalities.

7- You’re curious what are the remaining 4 points in Paulo Coelho’s list.

8- You judge people

And of course there are a lot more .. but I m out of ideas now .. so if you have you can share it in here

Tired of being Normaaaaal !!!!

  4. 40 and 41 are very veryyy true, and always practiced in today's world, which is very very wrong, i used 2 believe in 41 myself, unintentionally, and ive been trying hard lately 2 change that, thats why i was very touched when i read it among the list of other flaws. i think we should all learn from this, we should all seek to be better, and by better i mean better to other people, coz its by bein better in treatin others, by bein modest, down 2 earth, u focus less on shallow stuff and start getting the jist of what's really important. thanks alot for this ya Z, once again: very well done.

  8. Well said ya zoz... Thats the norm i am tired of... people should look outside the box, and just stop doing what "is right" ... Following what society has told us to do... and start doing what they really want to do.. Most of all I really like No.1
